When you use Engines Market, you are not talking to random garages. Every supplier in our network has been checked against a clear, documented set of standards.
We do not claim to have the “best” suppliers in the UK - that is for you to judge. But we do guarantee that every supplier has passed our onboarding process and is monitored while they remain on our platform.
The 4-point check
Before any specialist receives enquiries from our platform, they must meet all four of these criteria:
| # | Requirement | What we verify |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | UK registered business | Valid Companies House registration number (or equivalent for sole traders with HMRC registration) |
| 2 | Minimum one year trading history | Verifiable trading activity - not a newly formed company with no track record |
| 3 | Physical UK business address | A real workshop or office location, not a PO Box or virtual address |
| 4 | Accumulated customer reviews averaging 4.0 stars or higher | We look at Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, and Reviews.io - a genuine cross-section of public feedback |
Suppliers do not pay to skip this process. The checks are the same for everyone.
Why these four criteria- They give us confidence that the supplier is a real, established business with a proven history of satisfying customers. They also give you a baseline of protection - you are not dealing with a fly-by-night operation.
What we do NOT check
And why - so you know exactly where our responsibilities end.
We do not inspect workshops. We do not audit financial records. We do not test individual engines before they are supplied.
Our role is to introduce you to qualified suppliers - not to replace your own due diligence.
We recommend that before you agree to any work, you:
- ✓ Read the supplier’s recent customer reviews
- ✓ Ask for a written quotation and warranty terms
- ✓ Confirm their address and visit if you are unsure
- ✓ Check that they are insured for the type of work you need
Ongoing monitoring - standards do not stop after onboarding
Joining our network is not a one-time event. Suppliers are monitored while they remain active on Engines Market.
We regularly review:
- • New customer reviews on public platforms (Google, Trustpilot, etc.)
- • Any complaints raised through our platform or directly to us
- • Changes to their registered company status or address
⚠️ If a supplier’s average review score drops below 4.0 stars over a sustained period, we will investigate and may suspend them from receiving new enquiries.
Removal policy - when a supplier leaves our network
A supplier will be removed from Engines Market - temporarily or permanently - in the following circumstances:
| Condition | Action |
|---|---|
| Average review score falls below 3.5 stars (sustained) | Immediate removal pending review |
| Repeated customer complaints about non-delivery, misrepresentation, or poor workmanship | Investigation followed by possible removal |
| Company becomes dormant, dissolved, or ceases trading at the registered address | Permanent removal |
| Fraud, misrepresentation, or illegal activity | Immediate permanent removal |
| Violation of our platform terms (e.g., misusing customer data) | Immediate permanent removal |
Suppliers are notified before removal and may appeal if they believe the decision is unfair.
We do not publish the names of removed suppliers - but we do maintain an internal log for compliance purposes.
How this protects you - the customer
When you submit an enquiry through Engines Market, you are only connected with suppliers that have passed our 4-point vetting process and are in good standing on our platform.
That means:
- ✓ No unregistered traders
- ✓ No businesses with no real workshop address
- ✓ No companies with persistently poor customer feedback
You still need to do your own checks. But we have already removed the highest-risk suppliers from the equation.
Accreditation and partnerships
Some of our suppliers hold independent accreditations such as:
- 📋 ISO 9001 (quality management)
- ⭐ Trustpilot “Excellent” rating
- 🔧 Manufacturer-specific certifications (BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover approved)
However, we do not require these accreditations for network membership. Our 4-point check is the baseline. Suppliers who hold additional accreditations may choose to highlight them in their quotes and profiles.
Frequently asked questions
Do you guarantee the quality of work from your suppliers-
No. Engines Market is an introduction and comparison platform. We do not perform work, supply parts, or warrant supplier workmanship. Your contract is directly with the supplier you choose.
How often do you review supplier reviews-
We monitor public review platforms continuously. Formal reviews are conducted quarterly, but any significant drop in rating or new complaints triggers an immediate check.
Can I suggest a supplier to join your network-
Yes. Suppliers who meet our criteria can apply through our contact page. We do not guarantee acceptance - all applicants go through the same vetting process.
What if I have a bad experience with a supplier from your platform-
We encourage you to leave an honest public review (Google, Trustpilot, etc.) and to contact the supplier directly to resolve the issue. While we do not mediate disputes, we do track complaints and use them in our ongoing monitoring and removal decisions.
Still have questions about our standards- We are transparent about how we work - including where our responsibilities end.
